White Wedding

I'm back from Germany but leaving again tomorrow. Germany again it seems, however this time I'm going to a wedding and I'm faced with a fashion dilemma: All the guests have to wear white. I've got a white dress that is ok (although too summery) but do I get away with wearing black tights underneath? Help!

On Tour

Back on Sunday. Maybe I'll update the blog while I'm away. Probably not.

Blazer

I really want a proper school uniform blazer, like the one in the picture. Anyone knows where to find one? I checked eBay but I could only find the fully striped ones which look cool but are a bit too much. I guess I'll have to go on vintage shop crawl...

My Sunday

My weekend consisted of quite various activities. On Sunday I visited my first fashion show which was pretty cool. It was PPQ (at London Fashion Week of course). Then I went for brunch in Shoreditch after which we ran into this proper old fashioned fair behind Brick Lane. I've never been to an English fair so it was quite exotic. They had competitions for stuff like the best jams, strangest vegetable shape and funniest cucumber.

But first, PPQ.
Good: Cute salmon mini-bagels and espresso (it was in the morning). Kick-ass cocktail dresses and cool 80's style jumpsuits, oversized jackets and vertical stripes. Agyness Deyn's general hotness.
Bad: Blasé Erin O'Connor's rubbish speech. Cheap looking pink diamanté T-shirt dresses. Peaches Geldof's general roughness (I have to give her credit for doing it though, being a 'normal person' I'd never dare to set my foot on a catwalk).

Then Spitalfield's fair:

Photo Album Chic

Swedish band Shout out louds may not be the most interesting or exciting band around but they've got quite a good look. It's a bit contrived maybe but I think it's cozy. It's like something you'd find in your parents old photo albums from the late seventies. And they've all got great hair.

Organised Outdoor Fun

I love LA so much. It's so completely laid back and fun. People hang out, drive around and do cool things like having yard sales. I was there during the summer and I really miss it. Well mostly I miss the weather but I also miss this place, Jet Rag, that has a 1 dollar sale every Sunday. Check me out digging next to this cool dude.

Free Shopping

Yesterday I went shopping without spending any money which is always good. Had some stuff I needed to return and since American Apparel don't do refunds (why?) I picked up this skirt and the same style in black. I just wish it was summer again so i could wear them without tights. Or that I was back in LA.

Be Mine

This is what I'm planning to get for my birthday. I am 98% sure I'm going to go for the Canon EOS 400D. Any reason why I shouldn't?

Award Show Night

This is what my evening consisted of, MTV Video Music Awards and knitting. I hate award shows but I'm always scared I'll miss something if I don't watch them. Afterwards I realise I wouldn't have missed anything. Tonight I even put it on mute for a bit because it was so loud and annoying and I wanted to concentrate on my knitting. Now I'm taking my sick ass to bed.

The Faux-Naive Interviewee Style Perfected 1

The Faux-Naive Interviewee Style Perfected 2

Arghh.

Just came back from my National Insurance interview (yes, I lived in the UK for six years without getting a National Insurance number). The lady interviewing me was sweet but very confused. She asked me to recount every time I'd entered the country and stayed for over a month. That took me about ten minutes to figure out. Then she wanted me to recount every time I'd left the country, including holidays. That was when my brain exploded.

Selling of the Self

I just have to brag a bit because I'm so looking forward to this. My band Havana Guns are supporting The Raveonettes one night only in Basel, Switzerland. Raveonettes are one of my favourite bands and also very stylish. You should all come along, it will be great!

Yum Yum

Got a set of these French Connection bath products from my lovely sister. They are really great and smell SO nice. Good if you don't use perfume but still want to smell yummie. Also try the sugar scrub from the same brand, it's really great. Everyday luxury is the best.

Lick the Star

I love Sofia Coppola and in her debut short Lick the Star you can clearly see themes and elements of what she developed further in her feature films, most obviously in The Virgin Suicides. If you like Sofia and haven't seen it already, catch it here (part 1) and here (part 2). And tell me what you think!
